A root canal removes infected pulp from inside the tooth so you can keep it for years to come.
Inside every tooth is soft tissue (the pulp) carrying nerves and blood vessels. When decay or damage lets bacteria reach the pulp, the result is infection and, often, serious pain. A root canal removes the damaged pulp, cleans and disinfects the canals, and seals the tooth, usually finished with a crown for strength.
The reputation root canals have is decades out of date. With modern anesthetic and technique, treatment here is comfortable: "when giving anesthesia you can't feel you was just given a shot," as one reviewer put it.
Dr. Williams is also known for fighting to save teeth other dentists have given up on. One longtime patient recalls a tooth another dentist said could not be saved; Dr. Williams saved it, and when part of it finally cracked years later, he stood behind his work.
